Reputable Home Owner's Insurance Company

Bogleheads • View forum - Personal Finance (Not Investing) - www.bogleheads.org
I am shopping for a home owner's insurance company for a newly built home we moved in last year. The house is paid off and we have lived without a property insurance for close to 1 year.

It's a 1 story brick house (about 2700 sq ft) with solid foundation. We did a phase inspection done during the construction process. My husband is still worried and I agree that it's not very smart to live in a half a million dollar new home without any protection I just have seen too many property related claims getting denied and people end up having to take the company to court.

Please recommend a good company that will honor what they cover. I am mainly interested in getting our roof covered from hail damage since we live in a hail prone area. Thank you.
