Advice on funds for new car

Bogleheads • View forum - Personal Finance (Not Investing) - www.bogleheads.org
Hello, yesterday I found out my car needs a new engine and I need to get a new car. I am currently renting a car. I do not want to touch my 6 m9 emergency fund.

In my taxable acct I have 25k, my question is to get a new AWD car, because it will be dependable for my hour long commute and to drive my kids in? Rather than used? But should I sell my Versace and withdraw my 25k to pay for the car in cash ? Or sell vtsax/ withdraw car payments from my taxable account monthly? I can't afford a car payment in my current budget without withdrawing from my taxable account? I really didn't want to use any of this money in my taxable account but I feel I have no choice, and in a time crunch due to cost of car rental.

Thanks
